I recently came across your online advertisement in Sokkia’s corporate website in search for an Assistant Engineering. I am excited at the prospect of being able to contribute to your esteemed organisation and I wish to apply for the above position. I have completed a Diploma course in Electronic Computer Engineering at Ngee Ann Polytechnic in April 2008, in addition to having attained a Certificate in Electronic (Computer Technology from Yishun Institution Technical Education in 2002. I majored in fundamentals of Electronic and Power System & Reliability. My years of training have equipped me with the knowledge and skills in all electronic functions which include machine vision, automation & control systems design and implementation. My six-month stint as a design engineer with 4i2i Pte Ltd in the United Kingdom in 2006 has further provided me with valuable work experience. The job, which required me to be involved in the technical design, maintenance and servicing of automation system for building control, also honed my adaptability and ability in meeting stringent deadlines. My final year project in Water Power Electricity submitted in the final semester for my Diploma achieved a distinction for its novelty and applicability.
An avid sportsman with strong leadership skills, I enjoy outdoor sports such as soccer and hiking. I have completed a leadership course conducted by Outward Bound Singapore and participated in several leadership camps including a Youth Expedition Trip to Vietnam in 2005. These overseas trips have provided me with different perspectives in life and helped me to appreciate the world for its cultural variety and environmental fragility. My active involvement in sports and outdoor adventure activities has also won me awards and scholarships.
