I have always been brimming with questions about the how and why of the world around me. In fact, one of my biology teachers once commented in response to my constant questioning that I was an extremely curious student and a pleasure to have in class.
When in the 8th grade we began studying the three sciences independently, I developed a special affinity towards biology and chemistry. Medicine was the first thought that came to mind when I thought about a career in Biology and Chemistry but I could not foresee myself working in a clinic on a day to day basis. I was then introduced to my first Robin Cook book, ‘Fever’, the first of many to follow. It was then that I realised how dependent the medical community is on research and that there are a myriad career options that are open to a research scientist.
Being a student of the International Baccalaureate program, I got a lot of exposure to laboratory work which I thoroughly enjoyed. The International Baccalaureate encourages its students to question knowledge and test theories for themselves, an approach which suited me perfectly. The interdisciplinary approach of the program to science helped me broaden my perspective of the scope of research and crystallised my decision to study a course in molecular biochemistry. India is on the threshold of becoming a world leader in clinical research, however, the fact still remains that the leadership in innovative research still lies in the hands of scientists trained in the universities of Europe is what prompted me to apply to the your university.
What amazes me about this line of study is how all living organisms whether complex or simple ultimately are a collection of cells, entities so tiny and yet so powerful that they determine the nature of the organism. DNA is nothing more than a chemical compound but what is it that gives it the capability to determine the characteristics of an organism? How is it that cells communicate using chemistry? What molecular activity determines the genetic makeup of a species? The wide range of interrelated modules offered by your university will lay a strong foundation before I narrow down the scope of my education.
My love and appreciation of nature’s mysteries has been strengthened through numerous treks, camps and equestrian training and has found application to this field of study.
Your university’s state of the art research facilities are what attracted me to apply to your undergraduate course since the line of study and work that I plan to follow requires just that. The opportunity to meet and interact with the eminent scientists who are members of the faculty is something I really look forward to.
My tenure as Head Girl and years in boarding school have honed my organisational and communication skills and developed a sense of team spirit and responsibility which will aid my academic and personal interactions at university. Being in an international environment will contribute to the shaping of my ideas on moral issues like the ethics of cloning and stem cell research which need to be addressed by the research fraternity, of which I aspire to become a part. I realise that the program requires commitment and hard work and assure you that I will make a positive contribution to your department/it. I hope to have the opportunity to interact with other international and local students to further my interest in drama and theatre, my passion for music and my love for sports. 首先學(xué)生在網(wǎng)上盡可能查到學(xué)校與專業(yè)更多的資料，然后去做全方位的評(píng)估，按照自己的條件來選學(xué)校以及專業(yè)。一般是先大概選出幾所，之后根決定自己要申請(qǐng)哪所。
2、在申請(qǐng)期間
一般申請(qǐng)的提交都是從上一年的8月和9月開始進(jìn)行的，一直到第二年的4月和5月。但是學(xué)生們是在一年前就完成所以意向?qū)W校的申請(qǐng)遞交，然后等待結(jié)果。只是不同學(xué)校回復(fù)學(xué)生的時(shí)間也不同，有的很快一個(gè)月就能得到回復(fù)，有的比較長(zhǎng)需要三個(gè)月到六個(gè)月，所以大家需要經(jīng)常看自己的電子郵件有沒有回復(fù)。
當(dāng)收到offer后一定要仔細(xì)閱讀。英國(guó)很多的學(xué)校其實(shí)都是有條件錄取的，也就是學(xué)生能夠到這個(gè)學(xué)校就讀，但必須在一定的時(shí)間內(nèi)滿足學(xué)校所有需要達(dá)到的條件，一般是雅思和GPA等等的成績(jī)。

這個(gè)時(shí)間段一般是第二年的2月和3月，學(xué)生們這個(gè)時(shí)候需要完成所有的申請(qǐng)。如果是有條件Offer，各方面的條件都要達(dá)到了。另外還需要做的事情很多。第一是存款存款，一般需要提前三、六個(gè)月把準(zhǔn)備好的錢款存進(jìn)去并且凍結(jié)。存款的期限要特別注意，所以學(xué)生們的留學(xué)申請(qǐng)必須盡快決定。被凍結(jié)的這筆資金只能在出發(fā)前的兩三個(gè)月去解凍。
第二是押金匯款，這是學(xué)生們確認(rèn)入學(xué)的憑證。學(xué)校會(huì)給學(xué)生一個(gè)賬戶，匯款進(jìn)這個(gè)賬號(hào)即可。如果沒有在規(guī)定時(shí)間匯進(jìn)去，學(xué)校會(huì)認(rèn)為是該學(xué)生已經(jīng)放棄了錄取。
