not 的用法
1.not 為副詞,常位于 be 動詞?情態動詞和助動詞之后,其意為“不”?例如:
Tom is not a young man.湯姆不是一個年輕人?
not 可位于動名詞?現在分詞和不定式符號 to 之前,構成其否定形式?例如:
He asked me not to be late.他要我不要遲到?
Not finishing her homework,Jenny had to stay at home.由于沒有完成作業,詹妮不得不呆在家里?
2.not 可位于動詞 see,appear,hope,believe,suppose,think 和副詞 perhaps,probably 以及 be afraid 之后,表示否定意思?例如:
—Will they come back from London next week?他們下周從倫敦回來嗎?
—I hope not.我希望他們不回來?
其完整形式應該是：I hope they will not come back next week.
3.not 可以與 every,both,all 等詞連用,意為“并非,不都是”,表示部分否定?例如:
Not both of them are students.并非兩個人都是學生?
其完全否定形式為：Neither of them is a student.他們兩個都不是學生?
Not all the students have seen this film.并不是所有的學生都看過這部電影?
其完全否定形式為:None have seen this film.任何人都沒有看過這部電影?
4.not 也可用在省略結構中,代替前面提到的詞?短語和句子的否定形式?例如:
Hurry up.If not,you’ll be late.趕快,否則,你會遲到的?

1.no 用作副詞?
(1) 用于引導否定的答語?例如:
—Do you like a cat?你喜歡貓嗎?
—No,I don’t.不,我不喜歡?
(2) no 用于謝絕對方的建議或幫助?例如:
—Will you please have some tea?你喝點茶好嗎?
—No,thanks.不,
(3) no 用于表示不同意對方的請求?例如:
—Can you lend Wei Hua ten yuan?你能借給魏華10元錢嗎?
—No,I can’t.哦,不行?
(4) no 用于形容詞和副詞的比較級前,其意為“一點也不”?例如:
They are no older.他們一點兒也不老?
2.no 用作名詞時,意為“不,拒絕”或“反對者”?例如:
The noes are crowding there.反對者正擁擠在那兒?
3.no 用作形容詞?
(1) no 置于可數名詞單數前面時,相當于 not a; 放在可數名詞復數前面或不可數名詞前時,相當于 not any,意為“沒有的,全無的”?“遠非的?完全不是的”?例如:
No teacher and no student has come yet.教師和學生一個都沒有來?
Kate is no teacher.(=Kate is not a teacher.) 凱特根本不是教師?
(2) no 用于命令或標牌中,意為“禁止的”?例如:
No smoking.禁止吸煙?
(3) no 用于“there is no doing”結構中,意為“不可能”?例如:

4.no 可與 body,thing 等詞構成復合代詞?例如:

這兩個詞在詞義和使用場合上都有所不同。
No可以作副詞，也可以作名詞和形容詞;not只能用作副詞?，F將它們各種用法分述如下，以便比較：
作副詞時，no有下列兩種用法：
(一)作為yes的反義詞，用在回答問題的場合，表示“不”的意思。例：
No，I won't go to the casino. 不，我不去賭場。
(二)用在比較級之前，表示“并不”之意。例：
The weather today is no better than it was yesterday. 今天的天氣并不比昨天好。
用作形容詞時，no表示not any的意味。例：
There is no(=not any)time to lose.
時不可失。
注：當no用作形容詞時，可直接放在名詞之前，如果名詞的前面有a、any、much、many、enough等詞，就要改用not，不用no，因為not是副詞，只有副詞才有資格修飾a、any、much、many、enough等詞。因此，我們說：
I have no money. =I have not any money.= I do not have any money
注：no +u(不可數名詞)=not +any +u
再如：There is no meat in the fridge =There is not nay meat in the fridge.
He has no brother =He does not have a brother.
注：no+可數名詞單數= not┅a +可數名詞單數
He has no brothers=He does not have any brothers.
注： No +可數名詞復數=not…any +可數名詞復數

(一)修飾動詞：
I do not know any of them.
這些人我一個都不認識。
(二)修飾形容詞：
It's not cold today.
今天天氣不冷。

分析no與not的區別
no可作為形容詞，也可用作副詞;not只可用作副詞。no用作形容詞時，可直接置于名詞前。如果名詞前已有a, an, the, his, much, any等詞時，則應該在這些詞前面加not。如：
There are no apples in the boxes. 這些盒子里沒有蘋果。(作形容詞) —Do you like dancing?你喜歡跳舞嗎?
—No, I don’t. 不，我不喜歡。(作副詞)
It’s a duck, not a chicken. 它是只鴨子，不是小雞。(作副詞) 試譯：杯子里沒有茶。

(五)修飾連詞：
They are working hard not because they want to make money but because they know what they are working for.
