　　籠統數字的譯法

　　幾個some，several, a few

　　十幾個 more than / over a dozen，less/ no more than twenty

　　幾十個dozens of 幾十年decades

　　幾百個hundreds of 成千上萬thousands of 幾十萬hundreds of thousands of

　　數以百萬millions of 億萬hundreds of millions of

　　倍數的表示方法通常有以下幾種 ：

　　用 X times as …as … 或者 X times the …of …

　　如：兩倍 twice as ... as ... / twice the ... of ...

　　三倍 three times as ... as ... / three times the ...of

　　如：“這條河是門前小溪的三倍長”

　　This river is three times as long as / three times the length of the brook in front of the house.

　　用to increase by 表達：兩倍 to increase by 100%; 三倍 to increase by 200%; 四倍 to increase by 300%......

　　如：“近年進口的糧食翻了一番” The imported grain this year has increased by 100%.

　　用to、double等動詞來表達：兩倍 to double; 三倍 to triple; 四倍 to quadruple; 五倍 to quintuple

　　The efficiency of the machines has been more than trebled or quadrupled.

　　這些機器的效率已提高了2倍或3倍多。

　　等值翻譯：

　　不等值翻譯 ：

　　不必譯出：

　　He talks about you nine times out of ten when we have a chitchat. 每次我們閑聊他幾乎都談及你。(十次有九次都。。。十句話又九句都在說你)

　　The parson officially pronounced that they became one . 牧師正式宣告他們結為夫婦。(結合)

　　幾個數量的表達方法

　　A hundred and one factories = a lot of factories

　　A long hundred 100 多

　　A long hour足足1小時
