In some ways the employment interview is like a persuasive speech because the interviewee seeks to persuade the interviewer to employ him or her. Several suggestions might prove helpful to the applicant as preparation is made for the actual interview.
First, the applicant should know what kind of job he wants & how that job relates to his career objective; Second, the applicant should seek as much information as possible concerning the company, such as its location, financial status, plans for expansion, company philosophy & so on; Third, since the interviewer's first impression comes from the interviewee's appearance, both men & women should be in neat, conservative dresses.
In a word, make yourself look like somebody with a pleasant personality & a real interest in the job.
