Then in the following months, the number dropped rapidly. There was only 15 car accidents in December.

　　Why are there different numbers in different months? What is the reason for the car accidents?

　　Summer is a good season for traveling, so traffic becomes heavy from June to September. During that period of time, children like to play outdoors, so accidents happen often. On the other hand, there are often heavy rains in July, August, and September. Perhaps these are the reasons that accidents rise during summer months.

　　When the weather becomes colder and colder, more and more people would prefer to stay at home. Drivers usually drive slowly in winter. So during those months, the number of car accidents drops.
