honesty has become a big problem among university undergraduates in china. numerous examples can support my observations from cheating to plagiarizing. i think there are a few reasons which could explain the phenomenon. firstly, we lack a system to constantly check and punish dishonest behaviors. students can cheat in exams with little chance of being caught and thus little cost of doing something wrong and dishonest. then, moreover, even if he or she is caught, there would be hardly any punishment if the connections prove to be strong enough. secondly, dishonesty is rampant not only at campus, but also in the society as a whole. so we can hardly blame the downgrading of morality among university undergraduates (i mean, it is a wonder if that blame is ever true) for the lack of honesty, but we should reflect ourselves, the behavior and the atmosphere of the whole society, for what is happening amongst our young. above all, i believe it is the nature of chinese society (or at least we accept it as our nature) as a "connection" society which makes cost of doing anything wrong (that is, if you're the privileged class) to be low (if any)

First, copying papers from the Internet makes students lazy. Copying papers from the Internet seems easy and can save some time and trouble, therefore, students will do this more and more often and seldom work hard to complete their papers on their own. In other words, students will become lazier and lazier. Second. students can learn little from copying others' work. Students cannot improve their abilities just by downloading papers from the Internet without their own thinking and working. What's worse, once students get used to academic cheating, they may also cheat in other cases in the future, which will be very dangerous for them.
To prevent academic dishonesty on campus, some punishment by the school may be necessary. But the most important thing is that teachers should talk to those students, and make them aware of the fact that copying others' work cannot bring them any knowledge and that only by working hard can they improve themselves.

Furthermore, some one is afired that he can't pass the final exams leading to his degree, in the fruit of being absorbed into computer games or disappointment in love.
Consequently, only by cheating can they graduate and get the degree on time. Although many reasons share the problem of this drawing, one of them can be singled out for recognition:
the conditions of our sociaty. Such is human nature, that we can't avoid being influenced by environment. In short, the root of cheating in examinations and credibilililess on campus is combinition of many factors.
There is no blinding at the fact that, in dealing with a challenge on such scale, some strong, effective and necessary counter-measures should be put on our agenda. To the begin with, a widespread education campaign should be launched to make students realize the mportance of credibility. What's more, the government departments at different levels and related orgnizations should make joint efforts and coordination of programs to creat a more credit environment for us. Only by this package deal, can build up a harmonious and healthy ociaty.
