　　On the way to the classroom, beautiful scenery went in my sight. Both sides of the road stood plenty of trees, green and tall. When raising my head, I got a view of many lovely birds flying freely in the blue sky. Then I was lost in thought. How much I wished I were a bird, which could go wherever it wanted and do whatever it liked. Impossible as it was, I still felt very happy, for I was a man who had the ability to imagine and enjoyed the happiness it brought! As I walked on slowly, a bright simile bloomed on my face.

　　在去教室的路上，美麗的風景照進了我的視線。這條路的兩邊有許多樹，綠色和高。抬起頭，我看到許多可愛的鳥兒在藍天上自由飛翔。然后我陷入了沉思。我多么希望我是一只鳥，可以去它想去的地方，做它喜歡做的任何事。盡管如此，我還是感到很幸福，因為我是一個有能力想象和享受所帶來的快樂的人!我慢慢地走著，一個明亮的笑容綻放在我的臉上

　　My Hometown

　　My hometown is very big. I am going to show you around my hometown.

　　First, here is my house. I live in a small house, we have a garden. My mother grows vegetables and flowers in the garden.

　　Outside the garden the garden is a bus stop. It takes about twenty minutes to get to the nearest town. There are lots of buildings there. There is a shopping mall, a youth center and a cinema. There is also a park near the center of the town. My favorite place is the youth center. I often go there with my friends after school. There are lots of things to do there and I am always busy.

　　I like going into town on my bicycle. The town is near the sea. I sometimes go swimming in summer when it’s warm and sunny. There is not much pollution in the town because cars cannot go into the center of the town.

　　I have lots of friends here: I think it’s a wonderful place to live in. I hope you can come and visit it soon.

　　There is a wholeness about the person who has come to terms with his limitations, who has been brave enough to let go of his unrealistic dreams and not feel like a failure for doing so. There is a wholeness about the man or woman who has learned that he or she is strong enough to go through a tragedy and survive, she can lose someone and still feel like a complete person.

　　Life is not a trap set for us by God so that he can condemn us for failing. Life is not a spelling bee, where no matter how many words you have gotten right, you are disqualified if you make one mistake. Life is more like a baseball season, where even the best team loses one third of its games and even the worst team has its days of brilliance. Our goal is to win more games than we lose. When we accept that imperfection is part of being human, and when we can continue rolling through life and appreciate it, we will have achieved a wholeness that others can only aspire to. That, I believe, is what God asks of us — not “Be perfect”, but “Be whole”.

　　If we are brave enough to love, strong enough to forgive, generous enough to rejoice in another’s happiness, and wise enough to know there is enough love to go around for us all, then we can achieve a fulfillment that no other living creature will ever know.
