　　it的用法主要體現在以下幾個方面：作為人稱代詞的it，先行代詞的it，非人稱代詞的it以及強調句中的it和it的一些習慣用法。

　　1. it指代事物、群體、經驗、活動等。可以代替一個詞、詞組或整個句子，以免重復。

　　That wasn’t where you had dinner，was it?

　　When can we come to visit you?Any time you feel like it.

　　I love running. It keeps me fit.

　　it也可指代嬰孩或性別不詳的人。

　　Do you hear a baby crying?Something must have hurt it.

　　另外類似take it one’s duty to do something的結構中，think，find，prove，show，deem，believe，consider，count，feel，imagine，make，regard，suppose，take等詞后有不定式作賓語，且有補足語時，必須用形式賓語it代替不定式，若補足語為動名詞或從句，也要用it作形式賓語。
