The seats in our school reading-room are not enough for all the students. Many people get there very early to 'seize' a seat every day. So do I. One day a 'special' thing happened to me. And I learned a lesson that I shall never forget.
It happened on a Wednesday morning last January, just before our final examation. I got to the reading-room very early to occupy a seat. I put a book on the desk and then went to have breakfast. But when I hurried back into the reading-room,我的第一個繪畫老師(My First Drawing Teacher), I found someone was sitting on the seat which I had occupied in advance. I ran to him immediatly and shouted at him angrily, 'Go away. It's my seat.' Everyone raised their eyes and stared at me unfriendly. My face turned red and I felt ashamed of myself. I took my book and fled helter-skelter before so many eyes.
I dared not go to the reading-room for several days. I learned a lesson in the reading-room. Since then I have been keeping the lesson in mind: To be polite to everyone.

Finally, he practice of saving helps people develop the habit of setting goals and planning for their future. In this way they are bound to lead more meaningful and successful lives.
Most people would like to enjoy their money immediately. Nobody likes to wait for the things that he wants. However, if we learn to save our money, we cangain more advantages in the future. We will lead more secure and, thus, happier lives. We will also be able to buy the things we truly want but cannot afford right now.

As is reported, Oriental Greenboat is planning to change its name. Many citizens as well as the foreigners have great interest in giving a new name such as “Discovery Land” “Family Park” or “Youth Heaven”.
It suddenly occurs to me that why don’t we call it “The World of Discovery ”.I’ve got several reasons to account for it.
First of all, the word “world” has a more meaningful definition than “park” or “ land”. According to my visit, Oriental Greenboat covers a vast area, and it is more appropriate to call it a “world” rather than a “park”.
Secondly, Oriental Greenboat provide the chance to enhance the relationship between family members and promote friendship between the youth. We are give the opportunity to relax and enjoy ,thus discovering what is of great importance in our life. Thirdly , students are involved in many activities there. They come to discover how they should cooperate and overcome the difficulties with their own efforts. This is a world for them to discover how wonderful and able they are!
To sum up , I think it would be a wise choice to name it “ The World of Discovery”.

The topic of my speech today is “Being a Good Listener”.
Good listening can always show respect, promote understanding, and improve interpersonal relationship.
Many people suggest that parents should listen more to their children, so they will understand them better, and find it easy to narrow the generation gap; teachers should listen more to their students, then they can meet their needs better, and place themselves in a good relationship with their students; students should listen more to their classmates, thus they will help and learn from each other, and a friendship is likely to be formed.
What I want to stress is that each of us should listen to others. Show your respect and never stop others till they finish their talk; show you are interested by a supportive silence or a knowing smile; be open-minded to different opinions even though you don’t like them. In a word, good listening can really enable us to get closer to each other.
