Income Sources of College Students
According to the investigation of the income sources of students, the income of American and Chinese students comes from parents, part-time job and scholarship. However, the percentage of each income is quite different: fifty percent of the American students income comes from their parents, fifteen percent comes from the scholarships granted by colleges and universities and the rest comes from part-time jobs; ninety percent of Chinese students' income comes from their parents.
In my opinion, the main reasons for the difference is that American students are taught to be independent when they are very young, while Chinese students are taken such good care of that it is very difficult for them to live on their own. What's more, Chinese students have fewer opportunities to find part-time jobs.
Nowadays more and more Chinese students are seeking part-time jobs. For one thing, some students come from poor areas and their parents can't afford the high cost of education. For another, they're eager to acquire some social skills and earn some money which will help them do more in school and live independently. As far as American students are concerned, I think the sources of American students' income will remain the same.

Honesty means speaking the truth and being fair and upright in act. He who lies and cheats is dishonest; those who gain fortunes not by hard labour but by other means is dishonest.
Honesty is a good virtue. If you are honest all the time,you'll be trusted and respected by others. A liar is always looked down upon and regarded as a black sheep by the people around. Once you lie, people will never believe you even if you speak the truth.
However, in the tide of commodity economy today, it seems that more and more people believe in money at the sacrifice of honesty. To them, among such things as health, beauty, money, intelligence, honesty, reputation and talent, honesty is the only thing that can be erased away. They don't understand or pretend not to understand that honesty is the biggest fortune human beings own, and that it is the prerequisite for doing everything well. I think these people areto be pitied.
In short, honesty is gold. Honest, your reputation will become great;dishonest, your name will be spoiled and your personality degraded. Therefore, we should never make such an excuse as "A little dishonesty is only a trifle thing. We should eradicate immediately the seed of dishonesty once it is sowed in our minds.

Reading Selectively or Extensively Some people think when we read we should read selectively. That is to say, we should select some books we are interested in and ignore the others. Reading selectively can help us concentrate our limited time and attention on those selected books. Others think we should read extensively. No matter what kind of book it is, we should look it over. We should read various kinds of books, whether we are interested in or not. They maintain that reading extensively can help to enlarge our view and grasp the general knowledge in different fields. In my opinion, the two reading ways have their roles respectively in our reading. However,the disadvantages of each method are easy to see. If we only read the books we select or prefer,the framework of our knowledge may not be complete. Our knowledge would be rather limited.And if we read without selection, we may not have so much time and energy to be specialized in one particular field. Therefore, the combination of the two methods is more reasonable.
