　　Everyone has a lot of dreams. Some people want to be rich, dreaming of becoming millionaires overnight. Others want to be famous, dreaming of suddenly jumping to great fame. I have a lot of dreams,too. When I was a young girl, I dreamed of becoming a scientist like Hua Luogen in future。

　　However, I knew very well that I could not succeed without painstaking efforts. So I studied hard in the middle school and college in order to attain my goal.

　　After graduating from college, I found a job as a teacher.Although I was very busy with teaching, I never gave up my goal. I read a lot of books to get more knowledge. I made experiments to practise and apply what I had learnt from the books. Sometimes, I was so deeply indulged in my research that I forgot my meals and time. Now I have made great progress. Several of my research papers have been published. The methods proposed in my papers have been proven to be valuable for the solution of some problems. I am very happy.The ladder of becoming a scientist is still far ahead, but I have climbed the first rung anyway.

　　When I was a naughty boy, may be because of the influence of the film "Xiao Bing Zhang Ga", my dream was to be a soldier just like Zhang Ga. I thought if I was a soldier, I should be able to swim, dive and climb trees as he did. It seemed to be very wonderful. So I began to learn swimming, diving and climbing trees. I practiced every day and finally I could do them well. But when I entered junior high school and had the military training. I suddenly found that being a soldier was very difficult and I wasn't strong enough tobear it. I had to give my dream up.

　　當(dāng)我還是一個(gè)頑皮的孩子的時(shí)候，也許是受到電影《小兵張嘎》的影響，我夢(mèng)想著成為一名像張嘎那樣的軍人。我想如果我是一名軍人，那我就會(huì)像他那樣會(huì)游泳、潛水、爬樹(shù)。那樣該多好啊。所以我開(kāi)始學(xué)習(xí)游泳、跳水、爬樹(shù)。我每天都練習(xí)，終于我做到了。后來(lái)，我升初中的時(shí)候，參加了軍訓(xùn)。我突然發(fā)現(xiàn)當(dāng)軍人是非常困難的，我還不夠強(qiáng)大到能適應(yīng)。我不得不放棄我的夢(mèng)想。

　　But I wasn't discouraged, and I had a new aim, which was to be a postman, or rather to be a newspaper boy. As a newspaper boy. 　　但是，我還是沒(méi)有泄氣，我有了一個(gè)新的目標(biāo)，就是當(dāng)一名郵差，哪怕是一個(gè)報(bào)童也可以。如果我成為一個(gè)報(bào)童，我可以騎車在街道上飛馳把報(bào)紙扔在每一戶門廊前。這是件多么酷的事。于是，我開(kāi)始學(xué)起了騎車。經(jīng)過(guò)每天的練習(xí)，我可以騎得很快了。但令我失望的是，我想要的那份工作只有西方國(guó)家才有，而中國(guó)是沒(méi)有的，因?yàn)橹袊?guó)家庭是沒(méi)有門廊的。而中國(guó)的郵差不得不將一摞很厚的報(bào)紙從非常窄的口子投進(jìn)很小的郵箱里。這樣的工作與我的想象天差地別。所以我的夢(mèng)想再一次破滅。

　　Perhaps you have had the same experience as I and most of your dreams haven't come true yet. But I think it doesn't matter, because if you have a dream, you'll make many efforts to realize it. This course is really important. If I hadn't dreamt of being a soldier or a newspaper boy. I wouldn't have learned to swim, to dive, to climb trees or to ride a bicycle. Even if our dream can't come true, you'll learn much from the efforts you have made. So what I want to tell you is that dream helps us to grow up and teaches us how to control our lives. It is dream that gives us power and makes our lives colorful.
